After a great breakfast at the hotel, we get up to the top of the Acropolis around 9:30 - a not as bad as expected 15 minute walk. This place is definitely not handicap accessible!
Think I’ll let the photos speak for themselves:
We climb down off the rock and explore some of Athens on a Sunday - not everything is open but many things are. In our search for a Pandora shop, we find ourselves in Syntagma Square - the site of the Greek Parliament and every Greek protest worth anything. We catch the famed guards of the tomb of the unknown on duty:
We continue our walk about to the Athens Flea Market - basically an institutionalized street fair. On the way, we find a pan flute player - reminds us of Grandpa Ruegs who was well known to play pan flute music until his hair blew back:
Some baubles are procured and we find ourselves suddenly by a street gyros place on our way back to the hotel - so good even if the seating is limited:
Those locals again.
We soon find ourselves in unfamiliar territory - the lobby bar:
We wrap up by taking some pictures from Jeorgia’s room - the favorite:
The Parthenon by night.
