We depart Barcelona on Aegean Air - no United logo for J but they are a Star Alliance member so that’s United adjacent! Some light turbulence doesn’t boost J’s confidence but we arrive safely in Athens a little after 3pm. A 40 minute cab ride and we arrive at our hotel. Dead in the middle of everything - we lucked into the location.
Jeorgia scores the view room (photo in the header to this post) - it is awe inspiring to see the Acropolis rock and the monuments it supports, notably the Parthenon.
The hotel lobby bar/restaurant (we can no longer stay anywhere that doesn’t have one of these) is open to a square surrounded by a church on one side and bars on the other three - the place is packed and music is blaring from every establishment - people everywhere.
