La Rambla - A morning visit to Barcelona’s famous tourist and bad food magnet. We knock out some purchases of required tourist chotchkies for Jeorgia’s co-workers and a bauble for Kathy. It is warm and by mid-day we take refuge at the hotel’s rooftop bar/pool.

Jeorgia takes a dip and we enjoy some beverages in the warm Spanish afternoon.

In the early evening we venture out for winding walk around the ancient Born quarter of Barcelona and find a place for a light meal. Upon our return to the hotel one of the managers invites us to participate in a Gin & Tonic seminar where we’ll learn to make three G&T’s (the way the pros refer to them). We are introduced to Manel Vehi, Spanish and Global award winning G&T mixologist and consultant to resorts all over the world.

Jeorgia discloses that she thinks G&T’s taste like hand sanitizer - the gauntlet is thrown.

For the next 90 minutes we and other guests watched the master at work and enjoyed a variety of gin based cocktails - things get a little rowdy. While Jeorgia isn’t convinced hand sanitizer isn’t a major ingredient, she does somehow manage to gag the three cold beverages down.

Later, Jeorgia manages to convince Manel to prepare her a margarita - the resulting artwork is displayed in an unusual mug - I think we’re using props for a ‘Day of the Dead’ Disney feature.

After enjoying the master’s tequila concoction, it’s time to call it a night before the spins set in! A great, if entirely unplanned day.
