A relatively mellow day starts after breakfast with an 11am food tour beginning at a local market. Tapas, cheese, wine, paella and more! A brief excursion to a historical site along the way. Our guide is Valentina - an Italian who stumbled into Barcelona 6 years ago and never left. She is knowledgeable and a lot of fun - provides great tips for eating well and getting around.

We get back to the hotel and it’s up to the SkyBar and the pool. Vacation drinks all around . . . . . And around!
We decide to eat light and go to the lobby bar where they serve light fare. We notice activity across the small side street as a number of people are dumpster diving in the cans outside an organic market. We learn that the market disposes of post dated food in these containers and less fortunate members of the community stop by to collect food that would otherwise go to waste. At first, this was puzzling but, after we learned what was going on, made all kinds of sense.
We retire “early” as we have a big day tomorrow. We leave today’s post with some additional random photos:
