After skipping what we later find out to be an otherwise mediocre breakfast buffet at the hotel, we head off for a three and half hour mid-day food tour where we enjoy food markets, small Parisian restaurants, food purveyors and, naturally, wine. A well led tour and, despite the illness afflicting Kathy and Jeorgia, everyone has a good time. We get a fair dose of history and stumble across some medieval structures still hanging about.

After the tour we make a quick run by Notre Dame to see the status of reconstruction. From some angles you’re hard pressed to see the consequences while, from others, the amount of work ongoing is considerable. It will be amazing to revisit this once it is open to the public again.

To allow Kathy and Jeorgia to get some rest, we return to the hotel. While they try to battle the colds they have been plagued with, I grab my camera and walk over the the Champs Elysees. In keeping with the way things have been playing out, the Arc de Triomphe is closed for the day so I settle with standing in front of Parisian rush hour traffic to grab a few iconic, if not original, shots.

We settle for dinner in the lobby bar as the crowd seems ready for a quite evening and, well, lobby bar.
