[HC] The Cobbs took advantage of the noncommittal morning while the Ruegs crew headed out for a food tour thinking we’d meet up later and find something to do.
And by taking advantage we mean we missed breakfast altogether and headed straight to an early meaty lunch at one of Gordon Ramsay’s spots generically named “Street Burger”. Thankfully it was far from generic and because of the location we were able to do a very brief walk over to the Design Museum. We’ve been here before back in 2007 but the next year the museum moved to a new location. This worked to our advantage while the Ruegs crew did their bit.
Inside the Design Museum
After the museum and as the Ruegs crew fought through some more Jubilee chaos, we took a walk around Holland Park near the Design Museum. A rose garden, a playground for the kids, a Japanese garden, beautiful tree coverage, and not a lot of folks. What a gem this place turned out to be.
[FR] A great food tour over at the Borough Market by Devour Food Tours. Joseph, a sometime actor and jack of all professions put together a mid day tour with entirely too much food. Some very strange coffee based cocktail, fish and chips, Indian street food, and much more. Put the Borough Market on your London list!
Again with this Jubilee thing! Everything in London is a mess and it takes us hours to finally connect with the Cobbs at, shocker, the hotel lobby bar. We decide to stay away from the crowds by staying away from Buckingham Palace at all costs and visited the Mecca of, “If you can’t find it here, you can’t find it anywhere” - Harrods!
Later that evening, we’re off to a storied London pub, The Churchill Arms (sourced by David), for beverages while we wait for our table at the adjacent Thai restaurant. Human Zoo and spicy food - everyone has fun! After a possible stop at the lobby bar, it’s off to bed before a busy Monday.
